SEKF Supports Work Experience

The SEKF is supporting local schools by providing work place opportunities for young enthusiastic students who have an interest in sport and small business.

Patchouli Phillips a black belt with the SEKF who attends Highcliff school has just recently completed two weeks of work experience. Patchouli learnt the basics of organising and running a karate federation whilst helping out with general letters, squad analysis information and the company accounts. However, this was just part of running a federation, therefore, Patchouli also assisted Collin and Danny by teaching karate at both the primary schools and the sport centres. Another important part of a successful federation is knowledgeable and fit instructors so patchouli accompanied the instructors to the gym and learnt the basics in fitness training and how to pre-train for elite karate events using gym work in addition to karate.

Patchouli was an excellent student during her two weeks working with the SEKF. She enjoyed the whole experience especially the elite gym training.
