At the Southern England Karate Federation, our aim is to bring together karate clubs from the Southern England region, whilst offering the highest standard of local Courses, Competitions and ongoing Instructor training without the need to travel.

In addition we have a very talented Squad, competing up to International level, with access to the EKF National Squad.

 

Please find below a list of Instructor teaching guidelines that the SEKF will help you update to, along with some additional information.

 

1) Instructor Qualifications

 

  • Teaching practices / Health & Safety, Students register & contacts/emergency info/club advertising
  • Updated CRB
  • First aid training
  • Child protection
  • Risk & Equity Management

 

2)  Courses

  •  Senior Instructors of individual clubs will be invited to EKF, Kata, Kumite, Referee, and Coaching courses.
  •  After EKF training senior instructors will be invited to teach on our Federation courses.

 

3) SEKF Squad

  •  All new clubs will be invited to the next SEKF squad session for selections, after this initial squad session there will be one Open squad session per year in January, at this time the SEKF will look to take in new squad members. In addition, students who obtain a medal at the SEKF competitions will be invited to the next squad session.
  •  We run a 100 club fund which provides sponsorship for the squads.
  •  There is a three tier Kumite squad system Elite, A and B, plus a two tier Kata squad system A and B.
  •  A’ Squad members will be part funded for competition events, and receive a cost price track suit & sports bag.
  •  Elite Squad members train for Free at Squad sessions and are Part/Full funded for all competition events. In addition all Elite Squad members receive a free Federation track suit & sports bag.
