Gold medals at the East England open

Recently, The Elite and A' Squad traveled to Clacton in Essex for the East England Karate Open. The day started perfect with Zak Smyth from our club in Winchester, winning Gold, scoring good head kicks in every bout. Our next medals won were both bronze medals by Nick Isaccson and Louis Naraine, followed by two more bronze medals in the boys team events. After the Juniors had fought, it was all eyes on Danny Rudkin competing in the main event of the competition, "The Champions Cup open weight". Danny started in style winning his first fight 10 - zero, and carried on through the rounds in similar fashion, eventually taking a well earned Gold medal. During Danny's bouts, he pleased the crowd with an array of techniques including spinning side kicks, jodan kicks, sweeps and of course his trade mark reverse punch, which had perfect timing. Well done guys!
