AMA Nationals 2010

On Saturday 6th June, Danny and I travelled up to Sheffield with the A’Squad members for the AMA National karate championships.
We stayed at the 4 star Novotel hotel in Sheffield as usual, and had a great evening meal together before turning in for an early night.

The next day, after an important team talk from Myself, the A Squad were ready for action, this showed in their attitude during the fights.
After a hard Day’s competing, I am proud to announce that our club won three National titles, one silver and three bronze medals.
This was a very good result, especially as we were missing our Elite Squad who were all studying hard for their exams.

The A Squad members, Tom Moore, Riley Pearce, and Jack Fisher all claimed Bronze, with Joe Grimmwood our only B Squad member competing, fought superb by winning Silver.
I did not compete this year, but in the Seniors, Scott Miguel fought well to win the Purple belt & below category, and the star of the show was of course Danny, who won two National titles, -75 kilos and the Open Weight.
The weekend was a great success and the support from the squad parents was well appreciated. Thanks.
